The Federal election is coming up soon, and the Canadian Federation of Agriculture is asking farmers to vote in favour of agriculture on Election Day.

First Vice President Laurent Pellerin is disappointed that agricultural issues haven't been mentioned much by the parties, but he is not surprised.  Farming activities are not very well known in large cities across the country, so he says it's their job to put agriculture issues on the agenda.

Pellerin says agriculture in Canada has suffered a lot over the past two years, with producers facing low income and a high ratio of debt.

The CFA will meet with the Agriculture Minister and critics on Monday in Ottawa for an open discussion about agricultural issues.
