As the leaves fall and seasons change, the Fairview Pool is preparing to say farewell for another year.

The outdoor pool will officially close its doors for the summer 2022 season this Monday, September 5.

Meghan Chisholm, Aquatic Manager for the city of Swift Current, said that the extreme heat throughout the summer months lead to some ideal conditions for the pool.

“It was quite hot this year, which is awesome for the pool,” she stated. “We've seen a lot of people swimming and it's great to see everyone out and enjoying the sun.”

The pool was able to carry out the season without any restrictions due to COVID-19.

“Everyone's out and I think we're all ready to get back and socialize and have fun with our friends and family and especially when we have all the kids out of school,” Chisholm elaborated.

She also added that a couple of changes are in store for the upcoming season at the Aquatic Centre.

“We have new programming starting in the mornings for our early shallow-water and deep-water fitness classes,” she said. “That's going to be a change for this season.”

Residents will be able to enjoy family swim, lane swim, and public swim throughout the day on Monday before the pooch plunge at 6:30 p.m.

The Aquatic Centre is set to open on Wednesday, September 7.
