Girls baskeball is back at Great Plains College.
It's the first time in three years the SunDogs will send a female team into the Alberta Colleges Athletic League.
Athletics coordinator Mary Jane Benesh says they found a capable coach to guide their program: "Ryan Gunstonson is a teacher at Herbert School and he coaches junior girls basketball in Herbert and helps out with the senior program... he's really keen in coaching and has been working on some of his coaching levels."
Benesh adds they have eight players committed already and will start play at the same time as the men's team on January 18.
Home games will be played at O.M. Irwin School and the Swift Current Comprehensive High School.
