As the province rolls out step 3 of the re-opening plan, Great Plains College is getting ready to welcome back its students in the fall.

Noreen Volk, Director of Human Resources for Great Plains College details their plans for the fall.

"We've updated our re-open plan to reflect the new public health requirements and so our goal is to maximize the on-campus experience for students and return to one hundred percent in-person program delivery."

Volk also provides details on how the fall learning experience will look for students.

"The idea of having our students back on campus one hundred percent of the time is exciting, to see them milling about. For us what that means is that masks are going to be optional, physical distancing isn't in place anymore, neither do we have to do attendance tracking or screening questions. So the flexibility that provides is very valuable to us and I think it will provide a really positive experience for our students."

While they remain cautiously optimistic that they will be able to maintain their current plan, Volk says they realize that they must remain flexible as the COVID environment fluctuates in Saskatchewan and their plan is nimble and if they have to they will respond accordingly.

In a press release from Great Plains College to Swift Current Online, Volk stated “We are confident we will be prepared for the upcoming semester and that students and staff will have a positive college experience."
