White Bear, Sask. was the end point of what looks like a Bonnie and Clyde-type run, albeit with less violence, for a man and woman from Ontario.

Swift Current Rural RCMP have been investigating the couple since arresting them at the White Bear Hotel.

The RCMP 'F' Division issued a release saying the two were arrested after the detachment heard the couple was at the hotel looking for food and lodging, saying they had no money or identification.

Katelyn Jane Koury and Dustin Purvis were arrested initially for possession of stolen property, as the vehicle they were driving was allegedly stolen from Wapella Sask. Police say that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Over 200 exhibits in relation to charges from just in RCMP jurisdiction in Saskatchewan are being processed by the Kyle detachment.

The Regina Police Service is currently investigating numerous, recent instances of identity fraud, possession of stolen property and the fraudulent purchase of a vehicle. These investigations will include consideration of any evidence linking these recently-arrested suspects to unsolved crimes of a similar nature in Regina.

That's far from it though. The couple is also facing 165 charges from the Ontario Provincial Police in central and northeastern Ontario. Those charges include dangerous driving, fraud, possession of stolen property, possession of controlled substances, and many more.

There are possibly more incidents across Manitoba and northwestern Ontario that have not yet been linked to the activities of this couple.
