The Swift Current Motor Speedway will once again be bustling this weekend for some stock car races.

It will be the last set of races for the track this year but could feature an interesting lineup according to Alicia Smith, a member of the Swift Current Stock Car Association's board of directors.

"We have modifieds coming, street stocks, minis, and we are also hoping to have a class of hobby stocks as well, we haven't had them back for a few years," she said. "We've talked to some people out of Alberta as well that might be bringing the northern Alberta mini stocks."

Smith said the northern Alberta mini stocks were at the track last year and lapped the local mini stocks three times in a race. This time around they're thinking of paring them with the hobby stocks.

For demolition fans, Saturday afternoon could bring some thrills.

"The Bumper-to-Bumper bump to pass and it's a full-contact 50 lap enduro," she said. "So it's either who however finishes 50 laps first or whoever is the last one still running."

The track will be wet down before that race and feature four-cylinder cars.

There are still tickets for tonight's races that begin at 7 p.m. but tomorrow afternoon races are already sold out.
