When an ambulance won’t travel the highway to get to a patient, you know there’s a problem.

Saskatchewan Party Highways Critic, Randy Weekes, has issued a challenge to Premier Lorne Calvert. Travel some of the province’s worst roads and then decide whether or not upgrades are necessary.

Weekes issued the challenge, along with a list of 34 highways yesterday.

One of the highways highlighted was number 32 from here in Swift Current to Leader.  A highway Weekes says ambulances won’t travel to get to patients because the conditions are so bad.

Weekes adds that the response to the campaign illustrates the need for the government to conduct an assessment of all Saskatchewan’s highways and prioritize a road repair schedule.
