In the July 7 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 53 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 53 new cases there are 5 in the Far North West zone, 3 in the Far North East zone, 1 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 6 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central  West zone, and 13 in the Regina zone

There are 10 new cases in the South West zone - all in the South West subzone 2.

There are 7 new cases with pending residence information.  

Two cases were reassigned as follows - 1 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South East zone.

Seven cases were found to be out of the province residents and were removed from the following zones - Far North East (1), North West (1), Saskatoon (1), and Regina (4).

One case, a Saskatchewan resident tested out of the province was added to the Saskatoon zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 49,039, of which 319 are considered active.

There are 12 active cases in the South West zone - all in the South West subzone 2.

There is 1 new death reported in the 40-49 age group from the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 570.

There are 40 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 48,150.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 31 (2.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are  64 people in the hospital. Fifty-four are receiving inpatient care - 4 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 23 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 3 in the Central East zone, 12 in the Regina zone, 3 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 10 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 4 in the Saskatoon zone, and 3 in the Regina zone.

To date 927,628 COVID-19 tests have been processed in the province.

And yesterday there were 2,396 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of July 6 there were a total of 12,231 variants of concern cases identified by screening in Saskatchewan - 324 in the Far North West zone, 4 in the Far North Central zone, 87 in the Far North East zone, 836 in the North West zone, 633 in the North Central zone, 80 in the North East zone, 2,127 in the Saskatoon zone, 149 in the Central East zone, 4,813 in the Regina zone, 889 in the South Central zone, and 1,146 in the South East zone.

There is a total of 409 in the South West zone.

There are 83 screened variants of concern cases with residence pending.

There are no new lineage results reported.

Of the 7,515 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing, 6,816 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 385 are Gamma (P.1), 304 are Delta (B.1.617.2), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 13,719 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number administered to 1,247,253. Over half a million residents are now fully vaccinated.

Of those 13,719 vaccine doses given, there were 279 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-one percent of those 12 and over have received their first vaccine dose and 50% of those 12 and over are fully vaccinated.
