(1941-2024)

Larry Dash passed away on April 6, 2024 at Gull Lake, Saskatchewan after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Vanguard, educated in Glen Bain and Gravelbourg, he ventured out to Alberta where he drove truck for Davies Trucking, drove water truck in the oil fields of Northern Alberta, and worked for AGT.  Eventually he moved back to Gravelbourg to work in agriculture before retiring to Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Larry loved to socialize, whether it be with old or new friends. His love for stock car racing, hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, watching wrestling and football were all part of who he was.  He was a knowledgeable man who could build or fix almost anything. Later in life, Larry spent endless days in Alberta with his sister and family, where he grew to love the cattle industry and peacefulness of the Foothills countryside.

Left to mourn him are two sisters: Shirley (Dan)-nephew Jarl; and Carol-nephews Warren, Chris, and nieces Kayla and Shalisse (Dallas). He also leaves behind many friends and relatives.

Larry was predeceased by his parents Martin and Kathleen Dash, and sister Darlene.

Special thanks to Allan Blair Cancer Centre staff, Gull Lake Special Care Centre staff, special friends who stood by him, and to cousin Marleen whose faith and guidance helped Larry find peace in God’s hands.

A family interment will be held at a later date in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan.

He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

“God’s speed, brother- Love you forever.”
