The Home Hardware Midget AAA Legionnaires suffered their first overtime loss of the season yesterday afternoon at the hands of the Notre Dame Hounds in a 4-3 road loss.

The Hounds opened the scoring with two unanswered goals before Legionnaires forward Reed Jacobson scored his fourth of the season - all coming in the last four games. Jacob Piller recorded his 12th assist on the goal, tied for the team lead this season.

However, Notre Dame added a goal 40 seconds later to take a 3-1 lead at the first intermission - a score that would hold through the following 20 minutes as well.

Just 37 seconds into the third period, Hunter Lamb notched his team-leading 11th goal of the 2017-18 season to cut the lead to one.

The Legionnaires captain, Owen Ozar, would tie the game up on the power play in the last half of the third period on assists from Kersey Reich and Piller's second on the game.

The game would end just over halfway through the overtime frame as Notre Dame's Coalson Wolford put the puck past Swift's Steven Duchscher to sink the Legionnaires' bid to complete the comeback win.

Duchscher stopped 23 of 27 shots in the game and was charged with the loss in net.

Swift Current now has a 9-4-0-1 record on the season and looks to bounce back November 7 in Notre Dame again, this time against the last-place Argos.
