A trio of Swift Current products were making major contributions in the lineup for the Assiniboia-based South Rebels in the Prairie Junior Hockey League this season.

The Junior B team announced their team award-winners on Thursday, with locals Cayden Price, Hunter Johnson, and John Priela earning honours.

Price, a 1999-born alternate captain, took home the team's 'Most Valuable Player' and 'Most Points' awards. The forward had 18 goals and 59 points in 42 combined regular-season and playoff games.

Johnson, a rookie defenseman, was named the recipient of the 'Most Sportsmanlike' award. The 2001-born defender had two goals and 10 points in 39 total games, adding just eight penalty-minutes.

Fellow 2001-born rookie John Priela rounded out the award haul winning the 'Most Improved' honour. The forward had 11 goals and 20 points in 36 total games this season.

The Southern Rebels finished the regular season with an 11-25-4-1 record, good for fourth place in the five-team Bill Johnston Division.

In playoffs, the Rebels fell in four straight first-round games to the Regina Capitals.
