A lot of hours and days have gone into looking for one man.

A painstaking search over more than 200 square kilometers for a man suspected in two RCMP shootings, has turned up no sign of him or any evidence he was ever there.

Police say they are scaling back their manhunt for 41-year-old, Curtis Alfred Dagenais, and allowing residents in the search zone to return to their homes.

Police tactical teams also have been told they can leave.

RCMP Sergeant, Brian Jones, says the hunt for Dagenais would continue, but he would not give specifics for fear the fugitive could have access to media coverage.
