Yesterday, one individual was denied bail in regard to charges of drug trafficking.

Bradley Melo was the subject of a bail hearing in Swift Current Provincial Court for the 18-year-old.

Melo was facing charges of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose under the Criminal Code and breaching previous court conditions.

After his bail verification report, release was not recommended on the grounds of criminal history, poor compliance record on probation, drug use, and lack of willingness to continue addictions counselling.

He was denied release after a reverse onus bail hearing.

Melo will be back in court on July 15 at 10:30 a.m.
