It is with saddened hearts that the family of Mr. Richard Erikson announce his passing on March 24, 2024 at the Leader Hospital with his family by his side.

Richard was born September 29, 1930 on a farm near Fosterton, Saskatchewan. He grew up in Battrum and as the eldest son helped contribute to the family farm. At the age of 17 he began his career with CPR till his retirement in 1986. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Patricia (Wall). They resided in Battrum and Hazlet before making their permanent home in Cabri, Saskatchewan in 1965. While working for CPR, Richard also built the family home and farmed. He was very handy and could fix just about anything. After his retirement, Richard did renos to the home as well as took on jobs such as re-shingling homes, small reno jobs and helped his friend, Jack, on his farm. You could always find him tinkering in his garage.

Richard is predeceased by his wife Patricia (2011), infant son (1961), grandson Ty (1996), father Erik (1969), mother Mildred (1978), brothers Myron (2001), Glen (2009), Wilfred (2017), father in law John Wall (1992) mother in law Martha Wall (2023), and son in law Dan Smith (2015).

Richard is survived by his children; Glenda (Bill), Rhonda (Doug), Jodi (Murray), grandchildren; Yale (Ashley), John (Cassandra), and Bailey, great grandchildren; Memphis, Kylie, and Nixon, Brother Clarence, and sisters Violet and Elaine.

A Celebration of Life will take place on June 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Fosterton, Saskatchewan.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and to Diabetes Canada.
