From Military history to fresh food, free fishing, and much more, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the Southwest this weekend.

Market Square 

Head downtown to enjoy a wide variety of vendors from Swift Current and the surrounding area. 

Enjoy music, food, crafts, baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, a bouncy castle and more from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

Free Fishing Weekend 

Residents in Saskatchewan will have the opportunity to angle in waters throughout the province for free during the annual free fishing weekend. 

The weekend means that no license is required unless you plan to take the fish you catch out of the province. 

Angling limits and all other fishing regulations still apply. 

Pride 

Southwest Saskatchewan Pride’s Pride March will leave Market Square at 12:00 p.m.

At 4:00 p.m., Marsha Mallow and Sad Sally host an all-ages drag workshop at the Pride Centre (751 Lorne St West). 

Ending the day, The Late Show with Sally and Marsha will take place at 2150 Walker Street. 

The all-ages show starts at 6:00 p.m., with the 19-plus activities beginning at 9:00 p.m. 

Legion Open House 

RCL Branch 56 will be holding an open house/museum grand opening for the Branch 56 Museum this Saturday. 

Doors to the Legion open at 11:00 a.m. and the ribbon cutting will be at 12:00 p.m. 

Visitors can tour the museum, and learn about Swift Current's military history, veterans, and the Royal Canadian Legion. 

Market at the Museum 

Taking place in Shaunavon, from 9:30 am to Noon on the front lawn of the Grand Coteau Heritage and Cultural Centre, residents and visitors can indulge in the Market at the Museum. 

Located at 440 Centre Street, attendees can enjoy makers, bakers, growers, and artists. 

Maple Creek Heritage Festival 

The festival will kick off at 8:00 a.m., with a pancake breakfast in the Glascock Building. 

Attendees can enjoy an array of activities throughout the day, such as rides, games, face painting, and more. 

Murrydale Stampede 

The 115th Murraydale Stampede and Picnic will start at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. 

Food booths will be available on-site with admission of ten dollars for adults, five dollars for aged 11 to 15, and free for ages ten and under. 

Reid Lake Fishing Tournament 

This weekend, Reid Lake is hosting a fishing tournament which will run Saturday and Sunday. 

Set up and run by the Shaunavon Wildlife Federation, with a prize pool of $26,000, the event will take place in Ferguson Bay, on Reid Lake.

Lac Pelletier Show and Shine 

Located at Darling’s Beach in Lac Pelletier, the Show and Shine runs from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. All makes and models are welcome.
