A new contest has debuted in Swift Current at the Ted Knight Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame.

The contest asks individuals to bring in memorabilia that signifies the current player of the month.

Lloyd Begley, Director of the Ted Knight Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame explained details of the contest.

“Just to remind folks that the Hall of Fame exists and it's in our community and that they should, if they if they wish, visit the Hall of Fame,” he said. “If you have some paraphernalia or memorabilia of the inductee of the month, this month, of course, is Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe.

Begley said that any item relating to the player can be used for the contest including photographs, pucks, hockey cards, or even a story about the player.

After presenting the item, individuals can submit their name into a draw box for a chance to win an item from the gift store.

The Hall of Fame is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from one to five as well as during Swift Current Broncos games.

There is no admission fee.
