Numbers are in... and it looks as though the Oil Industry is bouncing back after hitting a slump recently.

In the past three months, figures were double all the stats in 2016, with 856 wells drilled from January to the end of March. Up from the 399 that were completed during the same timeframe the year before.

Energy and Resources Minister Dustin Duncan is calling it an "optimistic indicator". Saskatchewan’s oil and gas industry is responsible for an estimated 15% of the province’s gross domestic product.

Numbers dropped 10% from 2015 to 2016 with a total of 1,648 oil wells drilled last year.
