Shaunavon Mayor Greenslade says the Garbage Transfer Weekend that's done yearly helps residents clean up their properties.

 

The Town of Shaunavon is letting residents know that you play an important role in pest control.

Mayor of Shaunavon, Grant Greenslade, says, "It's my understanding that there is an increased amount of rats in the surrounding RM's. So, this has become not only an issue of the Town of Shaunavon, but also sort of a regional issue. So, everybody kind of regionally needs to sort of look at different ways to try to combat rats."

The Pest Control Act identifies the responsibility for controlling and destroying rats resides with every person who owns or operates land or buildings.

Mayor Greenslade is encouraging residents of Shaunavon to be pro-active regarding pest control. Properly dispose of rubbish and debris in your yard, cut tall grass and minimize water and food source access.
