Roughly 230 SaskPower customers will be relying on clear skies and daylight around the Saskatchewan Landing tomorrow.

A six-hour outage will be allotted for crews to install three new switch cabinets in the area.

According to Spokesperson for the Crown corporation, Scott McGregor, the work will help combat wait times during possible future unplanned outages.

“A number of the power lines all go into the switch cabinet and then from there it's sent out into the community,” he explained. “What these things will enable us to do, is in the future if there is an unplanned outage, we're able to kind of switch and rebuild power quicker to get service turned back on for our customers.”

Crews are expected to be working on the installations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., affecting residents east of Highway 4 along the north side of the river.
