Saskatchewan RCMP were busy on streets and highways around the province over the holiday season, as they were once again focused on catching impaired drivers.

Between December 24, 2017, and January 1, 2018, police charged 21 individuals with an impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

Eight of those 21 individuals also received an alcohol-related roadside suspension.

Compared to the same time period last year, this year was an improvement, according to statistics provided by the RCMP.

Last year 29 individuals were charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Three refused a breath sample, while an additional 14 received an alcohol-related roadside suspension.
