A Rosetown entrepreneur is being recognized for her leadership, business growth, and commitment to communities across Saskatchewan.

Sarah Johnston, founder and CEO of Atlas York Insurance, has been named a Women Entrepreneur of the Year Honouree through Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan (WESK) in the Rooted and Rising category.

The category recognizes entrepreneurs who are building strong foundations in Saskatchewan while demonstrating growth, resilience, and a commitment to strengthening the communities they call home.

Johnston leads Atlas York Insurance, formerly known as Judy Johnston Insurance, which now operates locations in Rosetown, Dodsland, Coleville, and Saskatoon.

Under Johnston's leadership, the brokerage has expanded its services and operations, including the launch of a group benefits division and the acquisition of a rural motor licensing consolidator.

The company has also strengthened its carrier partnerships and expanded opportunities for clients and employees, according to information provided by Atlas York Insurance.

Johnston's leadership approach also emphasizes professional development, networking, community involvement, and volunteerism.

Atlas York Insurance says that focus on its employees has helped the brokerage earn recognition as a Top Insurance Business in Canada, while team members have received national honours including Top Broker and Rising Star awards.

Johnston has also received recognition herself, including being named a WESK Women Entrepreneur of the Year Honouree and one of Canada's Elite Women in Insurance. She has also been a finalist for Insurance Broker of the Year in the Prairies-Maritime region.

Beyond her business, Johnston has created the Community of Care Grant Program and the Community of Care Charity Classic Golf Tournament, initiatives intended to support organizations in the communities served by Atlas York.

She also contributes to the provincial insurance industry as chair of the Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan, moving into a post-chair position to continue supporting the organization.

Atlas York's recent growth includes its expansion into Saskatoon.

The company is scheduled to hold its grand opening at its Saskatoon office on Saturday, Aug. 29.
