The Saskatchewan Greenhouse Growers Association has announced that Saskatchewan greenhouses will be opening their doors to the public this spring.

This is good new for greenhouse operators in the province who are busy getting bedding plants and vegetables ready to sell.

Jacqueline White from The Shaunavon Greenhouse says their doors will open for business on May 1, but there are Mandatory Conditions for Operation being put in place.

She said, "We can only have a certain amount of people per 1000 sq.ft. of our greenhouse, And then, i t's going to be one way traffic. It's gonna be very similar to what the grocery stores are doing."

White adds that they will be hiring additional staff this season due to the necessity to sanitize after each customer, and hand sanitizer stations will be in place.

She says that how they sell will be looking very different, but she's certain people will be happy to get out in their yards when the weather gets nicer and plant flowers and gardens.
