Keep an eye out for the big tent at Riverside Park tomorrow night, which will pop up to host The Great Southwest Shakespeare Festival.

Gordon McCall, Executive Director of the Lyric Theatre, said the outdoor event will be protected from weather with the canopy. 

"You couldn't have a better evening than inside that tent," he added. "There's just such a magic to it."

Opening night is tomorrow, with two plays being performed for this year's festival.

As You Like It is a romantic comedy, that the performers decided to set in the time of Robin Hood.

Beginning August 10 is The Tempest, a drama that happens to be one of Shakespear's last plays he wrote before he passing away.

Performances will run from July 23 until August 19 with tickets available for purchase on the Lyric Theatre website, Pharmasave, or at the door the nights of performances.

Folks of all ages are encouraged to come down and enjoy the magnificence of live theatre written by one of the most prominent playwrights in history.
