This year's Dr. Noble Irwin Healthcare Foundation's Charity Golf Classic drew a large crowd in support of healthcare in southwest Saskatchewan

The tournament is a joint event between the foundation and Swift Current Emergency Services.

144 golfers hit the links at Chinook Golf Club in Swift Current this year for the 11th year of the Charity Golf Classis, raising a gross total in excess of $45,000.

Clay Thompson, Executive Director with the foundation, shares his thanks after the successful day.

"Well we're always happy when a group of people can come together and help us move toward our goal. To the golfers who attended, thank you very much for coming out and enjoying the day," he said. "We spoke with a lot of people as part of the wrap-up ceremonies and I think everybody had a really good time, which is our number one goal. Certainly we want to gather some money but we want to show people a good time at the same time."

The Dr. Noble Irwin Healthcare Foundation will be sending their portion of the funds raised to the Cypress Regional Hospital's emergency department to help fund a new ultrasound machine.

A fitting destination for the funds raised, as the foundation moves into supporting the new single provincial health authority in the future.
