What could be sweeter than some kids donating money to the SPCA that they raised with Lemonade, Iced Ted, and sweet treats?

That's what Addison Gabriel and Macy Munt did a last weekend, after having completed their second annual Lemonade stand for the SPCA. The stand included things like Iced Tea, the aforementioned lemonade, puffed wheat cake, and rice crispy squares.

The girls managed to pull together $475.20 throughout the afternoon of the sale. This money was then taken in person a few days later to the Swift Current SPCA, where they contributed it to the well-being of the furry friends inside.

Amy Dixon, the operation manager for the Swift Current SPCA, is heart-warmed by these girls' outgoing generous spirits.

" It's just brilliant," praised Dixon. "Honestly, these kids can go out and do something like this and then have the want to actually give it to a nonprofit organization. We're just super thankful for it, and it's really special."

The money will be going towards the care and upkeep needed for the animals. Anyone who comes in can stipulate how the donation they bring is used, be that for adoption fees, food, grooming, or general supply purchasing.

"Whether it's food or for a vet bill or so on, for donations like the lemonade stand, if they don't say specifically, we do just put it into our general fund," said Dixon. "It goes towards the animals and whatever it is that we need."

The last time the girls made a donation, they covered the adoption fees of some animals they felt drawn to, hoping to ensure them an easy adoption.

"We're just really thankful for all donations," ended Dixon. "We do run mostly on donations to keep the shelter going and make sure the animals have a good, safe environment to be housed in until they can find their forever home."

For anyone looking to donate, the SPCA has a list on its website for the needs and wants of the animals. More than money, things like food, toys, cleaning supplies, and other goods are always in demand.
