Those looking for something different to do this weekend can attend the Spring Market at the Museum occuring this Saturday June 5th from 10am-5pm.

There will be a diverse group of vendors in attendance according to Visitor Attendant and Mainstreet Coordinator for the Swift Current Museum, Corla Rokochy.

"Were going to have quilts and pottery and painting and craft supplies. Some homemade bread and crochet and even a map maker from Val Marie is coming in."

Rokochy reflects on the purpose of the event.

"We wanted to do something on a small scale with unique vendors and get everyone coming in to the museum and checking out our wonderful space and the new temporary exhibit as well as our gift shop. So we thought this would be a great way plus the vendors here have not had very many shows to attend so its a nice way to support local vendors and artisans."

Rokochy adds that the market is a great way to connect with the community where they can have face to face contact and let people know about their products. It is also a win for the museum as they have people coming in to check out the permanent and temporary exhibits as well as the gift shop.

According to Rokochy, the museum is a nice venue for a christmas market, and unique local artisans and they would love to see these markets become an annual event
