Swift Current's Reed Jacobson has been selected to 2017 Male U16 Team Saskatchewan roster.

The 15-year-old is one of 12 forwards on the roster, as announced yesterday by the Saskatchewan Hockey Association (SHA).

Team Saskatchewan will be travelling to Calgary later this month to take part in the WHL Cup, where they will be competing against other teams from the western Canadian Provinces.

Team Sask, B.C., Alberta, and Manitoba face off at the Martin McPhail Centre in Canada Olympic Park from October 18-22.

As for Jacobson's current season, has been held pointless through three games this season with the Home Hardware Midget AAA Legionnaires. However, he had 70 points in 29 games last year with the Kabos Bantam AA Broncos.

Jacobson was drafted in the 6th round (115th overall) by the Spokane Chiefs in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

The 5-foot-8, 141-pounder and the Legionnaires host the Battlefords Stars Saturday and Sunday at Fairview West arena.
