In the October 13 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 34 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of these 34 new cases, there are 9 in the North Central zone, 8 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central West zone, and 11 in the Regina zone.

There are two cases that have their location pending.

Public Health investigations continue to follow up on all new cases to determine if they have links to known events, or if they are new transmissions within the community.

That brings the total number of cases in the province to 2,174, of which 238 are considered active.

There are 4 active cases in the South West zone.

There are 11 more recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 1,911.

There are 9 people in hospital. Seven are receiving inpatient care - 4 in Saskatoon, 1 in Regina, 1 in the North Central zone, and 1 in the Central East zone..

One person is in intensive care in Regina, and 1 person is in intensive care in Saskatoon.

There have been 25 deaths related to COVID-19 in the province.

There was an incorrect number of total test reported in the October 12 update. There were 684 tests that were double counted, therefore the correct total number of tests performed on October 11 was 2,553.

In today's update, to date there have been 218,959 COVID-19 tests performed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 2,037 COVID-19 tests performed.

As of Thursday night (12:01 am Friday October 16) the maximum allowable gathering size for private gatherings in the home will be amended to 15.

It is also strongly recommended that masks be worn in all indoor public locations where physical distancing of two meters is not possible or predictable.
