In the January 18 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 290 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 290 new cases there 45 in the Far North West zone, 12 in the Far North Central zone, 20 in the Far North East zone, 41 in the North West zone, 13 in the North Central zone, 33 in the North East zone, 55 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 10 in the Central East zone, and 25 in the Regina zone.

There are currently 2 new cases in the South West zone, 5 in the South Central zone, and 7 in the South East zone.

There are 21 new cases that have pending residence information.

Six cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 2 to the North West zone, 2 to the North Central zone, 1 to the Saskatoon zone, and 1 to the South Central zone.

That  brings the provincial total number of cases to 20,562, of which 4,265 are considered active.

There are currently  13 active cases in the South West zone.

Four Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One reported death was in the 60-69 age group in the North East zone, two new deaths in the 70-79 age group were reported in the Far North West  zone (1) and the Saskatoon zone (1). One new death in the 80+ age group was report in the Far North East zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province related to COVID-19 to 219.

The seven-day average of daily new cases to 291 (24.0 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 142 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 16,078,

There are 210 people in hospital. One hundred and eighty people are receiving inpatient care - 7 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 13 in the North West zone, 24 in the North Central zone, 10 in the North East zone, 61 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, and 42 in the Regina zone.

There is 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 11 in the South East zone. 

There are 30 people in intensive care - 2 in the North West zone, 3 in the North Central zone, 15 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, 8 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South Central zone.

To date, there has been 473,604 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,811 COVID-19 tests processed.

There is 1 outbreak listed in the South Central zone at the Assiniboia Union Hospital. In non-household settings, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more people test positive for COVID-19.

There were 2,449 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan-this brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 22,618.

The doses were administered in the Regina zone (527), the Saskatoon zone (778), the North Central zone (65), the Far North East zone (104) , the Central East zone (183), and the South East zone (792).
