In the September 17 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting seven new cases in the province.

Of those seven cases, four are located in the Saskatoon zone, one in the South West zone, and two in the South East zone.

None of the new cases today are linked to the social gathering initially reported on September 13. To date, there have been 21 cases linked to that gathering. Contact tracing efforts are underway, and it is likely that other cases will be identified before this chain transmission is  resolved.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 1,757. One case with pending information reported on September 16 was deemed to be a non-Saskatchewan resident and has been removed.

The number of active cases is now reported to be 109.

Investigations completed thus far have found that 29 of the 109 current active cases are from communal living settings.

In the South West zone there are four active cases.

There are four more recoveries reported today, bringing that provincial total to 1,624.

There are five people in hospital, all receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon.

There have been 24 deaths related to COVID-19 reported thus far.

To date, there have been 164,666 COVIDI-19 tests performed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 1,515 tests done.
