The September 15 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting a total of ten new cases of the virus in the province.

Of these ten new cases, eight are in the Saskatoon zone, and two are in the Central East zone.

To date, there have been 17 cases linked to a social gathering in Saskatoon. Contract tracing efforts are underway, and it is likely that other cases will be identified before this chain of transmission is resolved.

This brings the total number of provincial cases to 1,741, of which 101 are considered active.

Investigations completed thus far have found that 33 of the 101 current active cases are from communal living settings.

In the South West zone there are four active cases of COVID-19.

There have been 12 recoveries reported today, bringing that provincial total to 1,616.

Four people are in hospital receiving inpatient care, all in Saskatoon.

There have been 24 deaths related to COVID-19  to date.

There have been, to date, a total of  161,933 COVID-19 tests done in Saskatchewan.

Yesterday there were 1,658 tests done.
