The Saskatchewan Public Sector strike continues and so does the use of RCMP officers at the province's correctional institutions.

In December, the employees at the Correctional Centers and Youth Detention Centers walked to picket-line and RCMP officers, including officers from Alberta and Manitoba, were sent to work at the facilities.

Now, officers from Alberta and Manitoba have arrived in the province again to work at our 13 correctional institutions.

About 250 officers are helping out.

Spokesperson for the RCMP, Sergeant Brad Kaeding, says the out of province RCMP officers will remain at the institutions for the next seven days and will be replaced by the Saskatchewan officers again, if necessary.
