The Saskatchewan RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit (FSOC) are looking for 3 suspects wanted in relation to a multimillion-dollar online romance scam.

The 3 suspects, 23-year-old Jonah Eigbuluese, 27-year-old Clinton Newton, and 25-year-old Joshua Ometie are wanted after defrauding seven women. The victims collectively lost more than $2 million dollars during their 'relationships' with the scammers.

The three wanted men could be anywhere in Canada, but were believed to be in Regina earlier in the year. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the individuals is asked to call 306-310-RCMP (7267) or their local police service.

Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitting a tip online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.

Saskatchewan RCMP FSOC was struck by the apparent authenticity of these online romances and by the time devoted by the suspects to the people they victimized.

FSOC works in conjunction with domestic and international partners to disrupt, dismantle, and support the prosecution of serious and organized crime groups and their members.

In January, Austin Newton was arrested in relation to the investigation, and in April, Kelvin Awani turned himself into police and was also arrested

28-year-old Austin Newton has been charged with the following:

Fraudulently personating another person, section 403(1) of the Canadian Criminal Code; Fraud under $5,000, section 380(1)(b) of the Canadian Criminal Code; Fraud over $5,000, section 380(1)(a) of the Canadian Criminal Code; and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, section 354(1) of the Canadian Criminal Code.

In conjunction with the investigation, the RCMP released a safety message via Youtube regarding online relationships, which can be watched by clicking here.
