Swift Current City RCMP caught three different drivers that failed roadside screening tests over the weekend.

The first call came around 9 p.m. on Friday as a report of a hit and run on Riverdene Park Drive.

According to the caller, someone she knew had backed into her vehicle before driving away and then returned to the scene for a verbal fight before fleeing again.

Police were able to find the accused, who blew a warning on a roadside alcohol screening test. She was handed a 120-day Provincial Driving Suspension, and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, just before 2:30 a.m., officers received a 911 call of a collision on Hillcrest Drive.

The caller reported a Mazda 3 had hit her Ford Escape that had been parked in her driveway, and the driver of the Mazda was now on her lawn smoking.

Officers confirmed that no one was injured as a result of the collision upon arrival, and the Mazda driver failed a roadside alcohol screening test.

He was arrested and held in custody until he was sober and is set to be charged with impaired driving under the Criminal Code.

RCMP were on patrol later that night and noticed a white Cadillac Deville speeding on Battleford Trail, taking the curve at a high rate of speed, almost striking the meridian at Central Avenue and then proceeding through a red light.

The vehicle was pulled over and officers saw alcohol present; the driver failed a roadside alcohol screening test and was arrested and taken to the Detachment for breath samples. He will be charged with impaired driving under the Criminal Code.

Two passengers in the vehicle were also handed tickets for consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle under the Alcohol & Gaming Regulations Act.
