Both the unemployment and the total number of jobs in the southwest saw declines again last month.

The number of people employed in Swift Current/Moose Jaw declined from 51,000 last year to 49,600 in October and 49,100 in November. But thanks to an even larger decline in the size of the labour force, the unemployment rate continues to drop. It went from 4.5% last year to 3.7% in October and 3.3% last month.

The labour force sits at 50,800 people for our area, a drop from 53,400 last year.
