A few more details regarding a fire at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School earlier today have been released.

According to the Chinook School Division, all staff and students were evacuated from the facility safely this afternoon.

The blaze that occurred at the west entrance has left a strong smoke odour to parts of the building.

Contractors are working to ensure the high school is safe for students to return, however, remote learning will be implemented for Friday classes.

According to a City of Swift Current press release, structural and content damages are listed as moderate.

And the Swift Current Fire Department won't be releasing the cause of the inferno until their investigation is complete.

The Aquatic Centre will re-open on Friday resuming its regular hours.
