Volunteers are still being sought to help out at the upcoming Windscape Kite Festival taking place this weekend.

Volunteer Coordinator with Windscape, Brittany Williams provides details on the jobs available.

"We are a volunteer-run organization so we need lots of helpers out to run all of our events. We have everything from kids bubbles to making kites and lots of fun activities for children. As well we are looking for help running the field. So helping with recycling, signing in volunteers, and doing kite workshops."

Williams says there are also additional perks to volunteering.

"So every single shift you take we enter you into a draw and the raffle prizes were donated by local businesses. So there are some great things to win. Also, if you cover two shifts in a day we will cater your lunch and on Sunday we have all of our volunteers invited to our music festival Long Days Night."

Shifts run from 9:00 am-1:30pm or 1:00pm-5:30pm.

Volunteer orientation will be taking place at 7:00 pm on June 15th on the kite field located at 11th Ave SW.  At this time volunteers will be taught anything they are unsure of how to do and walked through their assigned station.
