The Shaunavon Perk Up Our Parks Committee broke ground late last week on Shaunavon's new Splash Park.

After a community wide vote in the spring, the Perk Up our Parks Committee announced that Jubilee Park would be the location of the new Splash Park.

Construction crews are now hard at work building the structure which will measure 60 feet by 65 feet and feature Shaunavon themed items such as a Badger playing hockey wearing a Braydon Coburn jersey. Also included will be a tractor and a pump jack.

Kyle Bennett, Chairman of t he Perk Up Our Parks Committee says they have raised about $330,000 of the $340,000 price tag and more fundraisers are in the works.

When open to the public, the Splash Park will be free of charge.

Anticipated completion date of the structure is the end of September.
