Despite having to play their entire tournament schedule on Saturday and Sunday, the Bantam 'AAA' 57's still were able to grind out a gold medal performance at home.

Hosting their annual home tournament, the 57's were unable to play any of their games on Friday as many of their players were away.

Swift Current wound up dropping their first two contests on Saturday, losing 13-3 to the Sask Five Giants and 10-8 to the Saskatoon Braves.

However, with their backs against the wall Swift Current got on a roll.

Playing three straight must win games, the 57's won all three en route to their gold medal.

It started with a 13-2 win over the Braves, which advanced them to the semi-finals.

In the semi's the 57's doubled-up the Saskatoon A's 4-2, setting up a re-match with the Sask Five Giants in the gold medal game.

The 57's fell behind 3-0 and later 10-5 in the game but managed to comeback both times, ultimately winning the game 13-11.

The Bantam 'AAA' team will now switch their focus to a tournament in Saskatoon which starts on Friday.

They will return to league play on July 8 with a trip to Regina.
