A semi-final berth for Tanner Fritzke and Team Sask after a pair of wins at Baseball Canada’s 21U Men’s Championships.

In their final game of round robin play yesterday morning against PEI, a 4-1 win secured a berth in playoff qualifiers to reach the semi finals.

Their qualifier against New Brunswick saw Swift Current’s Fritzke start on the mound, with a solid four inning performance, giving up two runs on four hits.

Down 2-1 entering the bottom of the seventh and final inning in the game, Team Sask loaded the bases and tied the game after catcher Jordan Logan was hit by a pitch. The next batter, lead-off hitter Dalton Wells hit a walk-off single to win 3-2.

They now face Ontario 1 in their semi final today, with a shot at a medal later tonight.
