The Shaunavon Badgers didn't have to travel far to bring home a Senior AA Tier 5 provincial title over the weekend.
Shaunavon took the short jaunt north on Highway 37 to Gull Lake for their Baseball Sask provincial championship.
The Badgers kicked off the five-team tournament by edging the Arcola Threshers 9-8 - a win that would come in handy later.
Shaunavon dropped their second and third games, an 11-9 loss to Gull Lake and a 9-6 defeat at the hands of the Redvers Athletics.
The Badgers rebounded with a 9-6 win of their own over the Outlook River Hawks to round out the round robin.
Redvers went 4-0 to earn a spot in the gold medal game.
Both Shaunavon and Arcola were in second place at 2-2, though, due to the Badgers earning the W over the Threshers in the opener, they earned the second spot in the title game.
In the gold medal game, the Badgers got revenge on Redvers, defeating the A's 6-4 for the provincial title.
Meanwhile, the host Gull Lake Greyhounds went 1-3:
Lost 11-9 to Redvers A's
Won 11-9 over Shaunavon Badgers
Lost 10-7 to Arcola Thrashers
Lost 8-4 to Outlook River Hawks
