This past weekend was a busy weekend for Shaunavon Fire and Rescue.

On Friday afternoon, September 8th, at approximately 1:15 p.m. crews were dispatched to the scene of a roll over located 15 kilometers south of Shaunavon.

According to Shaunavon Fire Chief, Dean McNabb, a truck carrying diesel fuel seems to have caught the soft shoulder of the highway and then rolled into the ditch.

The driver of the truck received minor injuries and Environmental crews arrived on the scene to clean up the spill.

Shaunavon Fire Crews were called out again on Saturday September 9th at about 5:25 p.m. , this time to a grass fire located five mile west of Shaunavon.

Fire Chief McNabb says that fire is under investigation. A large area burned, spurred on by strong winds and the extremely dry conditions.

The Eastend Fire Department was called in to assist and there were no injuries associated with the blaze.
