A woman facing a second-degree murder charge for the 2016 death of Logan Ring has had three animal cruelty charges against her stayed.

Tanisha Perrault was in Outlook Provincial Court Thursday, and she'll no longer be facing the two Criminal Code charges of wilfully causing or, being the owner, wilfully permitting, an animal to be caused unnecessary pain, and owning, or having custody or control of a domestic animal wild by nature in captivity, and abandoning it in distress or wilfully neglecting or failing to provide suitable and adequate food, water, shelter, and care for it.

Her other charge was under Section 4 of the Animal Protection Act.

Perrault and her father, Collin Perrault, have had their preliminary hearings moved from Swift Current Provincial Court to the Court of Queen's Bench, and a date hasn't been set yet for when they'll resume.
