At Swift Current Provincial Court Ryan Chamberlin was found guilty for sexual abusing four children over a twenty-two year span.
The 39 year-old was a former sports coach, who took advantage of the children under his supervision. Chamberlin plead guilty to three counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual immorality.
The Crown put forward a joint submission to the court for a five-year sentence. Judge Karl Bazin compared Chamberlin’s crimes to that of former Bronco coach Graham James.
Judge Bazin said that by the actions of the four courageous people who came forward, they greatly reduced the children Chamberlin could have harmed in the future. He added it is this courage that should be remembered.
