The town of Gull lake didn't mind that mother nature was not cooperating with their plans to hold the annual winterfest on Saturday, Feb 18.

Mayor Blake Campell talks about one of the challenges the organising committee had

"The weather was a little bit of a challenge we had to go around and look into the ditches, and places in town where we had clean snow, or relatively clean snow,: he said. "We did that the morning just before the event, we got the forms filled up. The snow snow artist said it was some of the more challenging snow she has had to work with just because of the consistency being a little soft, made it a little challenging but she did a good job."

Participants had a great pancake breakfast as well as a mini trade show to enjoy. The Initiation hockey tournament was well attended. Horse drawn waggon rides were well used.

The street hockey kids enjoyed the games no matter what the weather was.

In the afternoon there was a Best Chocolate Chip Cookie in the Southwest Contest.

The winner will be revealed once all of the cookies are eaten.

The day wrapped up with an old fashioned bonfire and all the smore you can eat.

Mayor Campbell asked that anyone who attended the interfest please go to the town website and fill out an online survey so they can gain insight and plan for bigger and better winterfests.
