The kitchen at The Grand Coteau Heritage and Cultural Center in Shaunavon will soon be getting a face lift.

The Town of Shaunavon has given the facility $10,000 for renovations, and along with other fundraising efforts, and a donation of $4,000 from Affinity Credit Union, the project will soon get underway.

Joanne Gregoire is the Director of Culture for The Town of Shaunavon. She talked about why the upgrades are so important. "The only access into the kitchen area is through the Library, so it's quite a little trek around, ya know, from the Gallery. To  increase storage and efficiency in there as well as to make it more efficient and more user friendly."

The total cost of the renovations are estimated at around $16,000.

Gregoire hopes to see renos start as early as October, with all work hopefully to be completed by the end of the year.
