Former Shaunavon Mayor, Sharon Dickie, received an Honorary SUMA membership last week when she attended the annual SUMA banquet

Dickie, along with four others from across the province, were recognized for their long term dedication to, and involvement in, their communities.

The honor goes to elected officials in the province with twenty or more years of service to their communities.

Sharon Dickie served as a Shaunavon Town Councillor for six years, and as Mayor of Shaunavon for sixteen years.

She says, "It was a very special award and a pretty nice way of capping off my twenty two years of serving Shaunavon, which I totally enjoyed."

Dickie was nominated for the Honorary Membership by Shaunavon Town Council, who attended the banquet with her on February 7th.

The presentation was made by SUMA President, Randy Goulden, and Minister of Government Relations, Donna Harpauer.
