Though still early into a jam-packed four days of events, the southwest is buzzing over Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada.

The opportunity to skate in the presence of the Stanley Cup was one that was grasped by a wide range of southwest residents. Beaming faces ranged from kids barely old enough to skate and still leaning on their parents for support, to those parents and grandparents who saw a couple notable faces in attendance hoist either the Memorial or Stanley Cup in their playing days.

The likes of Lanny McDonald, Sheldon Kennedy, and Travis Moen were among the prominent faces scattered around the ice. It wasn't hard to pick them out - just look for a line of kids and adults alike awaiting a chance at an autograph and picture.
Events continue through Saturday in Swift Current.
