The Swift Current 57's were able to split a doubleheader in Melville Thursday night.

Game one was a continuation from their Canada Day matchup in which the game was suspended due to the weather.

In Game one the Millionaires had jumped out a four-run lead. The lead would hold up as the 57's were able only to add one run which came on a Ryan Magdic single.

Game two the 57's started off swinging as a Kiel Krumwiede single, a Jack Large walk, and a Breyden Eckout single would load the bases before Madgic would hit a sacrifice fly to give the 57's the lead.

Things continued in the second inning as the 57's scored six runs to take a commanding lead early on in the game. Ian McIntyre hit his first home run of the season, Breyden Eckout drove in a run with a single, and Tanner Holen would clear the loaded bases with his fifth double to pick up three RBIs. A Toby Allred single would score Holen for the sixth run.

Isiah Campa got the start for Swift Current and went three innings of shutout baseball striking out four. Aaron Pugh who entered the game with 0.84 ERA would take over and have an off night surrendering five earned runs as Melville hit their way back into the game with two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth.

A Magdic double would score the 57's eighth run to give them an 8-5 lead. That lead would hold up Diego Jordan, and Garret Alexander closed out the game combing for 2 1/3 innings for the win.

Swift Current will play their final game before the All-Star Game which happens this Sunday as they host the Medicine Hat Mavericks tonight with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. at Mitchell Feild.
