The Swift Current 57's added another WCBL veteran to their coaching staff, announcing Shawn Lee as an assistant coach over the weekend.

Lee, a native of Arkansas, played with the 57’s from 2007 to 2011, winning a championship with the team in his final season. He was also a draft pick of the Atlanta Braves as a catcher in 2004 and was a Gold Glove shortstop and pitched a 0.00 ERA as a closer with Bellevue University from 2006-2008 as the school went to the NAIA World Series two years in a row.

Lee joins new head coach and GM Jason Veyna and assistant coach Ruddy Estrella in the dugout this summer.

The 57’s open the new season on May 25th in Weyburn with the home opener against the Beavers the following night at Mitchell Field.
